Cultural well-being Training

Timeline: half or full-day options

This workshop and training will focus on the connection between equity, well-being, and the built environment. Stakeholders gain insight into ways the built environment influences human behavior, sense of belonging, and mental and physical health, particularly in relation to diverse identities. This training provides a level-set of these concepts using a whole-systems framework that impacts health and well-being including implications from chronic stress and the social determinants of health. Workshops will utilize an interactive learning approach that involves lecture, discussion, and group activities to enhance understanding and practical application of the concepts introduced.

Focusing on the intersection of equity and well-being equips stakeholders with tools to:

Gain a deeper awareness of equity and how it impacts people’s well-being supported by the built environment.

Create a culture of inclusion and belonging in organizations and communities that centers and celebrates all people.

Understand how to create more inclusive and supportive environments that promote mental and physical health and well-being for all.

 

Cultural Well-being Curriculum advisement

Timeline: 10 days

This service provides curriculum advising and feedback for both individuals and organizations with a focus on equity, well-being, and the built environment. We will work with you to understand your curriculum needs and goals, then offer feedback and suggestions to strengthen its impact.

Students will gain a culturally competent understanding of how the built environment influences human behavior, sense of belonging, and mental and physical health in relation to diverse identities. This service is valuable for those seeking to develop or revise their curricula, aiming to provide students with the necessary tools to critically analyze their surroundings, comprehend the impact of societal structures on individual health and well-being, and contribute to the establishment of a more equitable society.

Includes:

Personalized course feedback based on individual goals and outcomes.

Identify measurable learning objectives.

Credible resources including readings and tools.
