A Human-centered Approach

Equity is a significant issue of our time.

It’s an uncomfortable truth, but we can do hard things.

I’m Dr. Angie Scott, Founder of Angie Scott Design. As a design researcher and health equity leader for well-being in the built environment, I speak to people around the world who want real change to remove barriers and red-tape for ALL people to thrive in the spaces we live our lives.

So I decided to put real “skin” in the game to serve minoritized and underserved communities, especially those of color. I leverage my 20+ years of experience and doctoral education in evidence-based design research to positively impact people's mental, physical, and CULTURAL well-being. Not just to survive-but to thrive.

Our research, engagement, and advocacy takes a preventative approach to people’s well-being supported by the spaces we live, work, play, learn, and worship. This holistic approach of viewing well-being through an equity lens makes us unique in our field and qualified to meet your needs where you are.

A Lil’ Praise Break

From Our Valued Clients and Colleagues

We didn’t have in-depth knowledge about aging-in-place or universal design. Angie helped us understand these concepts, and through her knowledge and engagement, we were awarded a bonus grant. It’s important to hear from external experts because we don’t know what we don’t know.
— Becki Kenderes, Deputy Director, Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation

We did not have a clear understanding of the project criteria. Dr. Scott helped facilitate the process of developing a plan with clear outcomes through her guidance and focus group engagement. Now we have a clearly defined project with objectives and strategies that are germane to our organizational goals.
— Anonymous, Co-founder & Community Development Manager
